Field Day on the technology of cultivation of cereal crops!



On June the 16th, 2015 at the experimental demonstration field of Mykolayiv National Agrarian University the celebrations on the occasion of the Traditional Field Day on the technology of cultivation of cereal crops had been held!


This event became possible due to close cooperation with leading breeding centers of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, namely: Selection and Genetics Institute, Institute of Myronivsky wheat by B. Remesla, Institute of Irrigated Agriculture, Institute of Plant by V. Yr'ev and a number of breeding and research stations.


Welcoming remarks were made by the First Deputy Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional Administration Nikolay Romanchuk. The event was also attended by Chairman of Mykolayiv Region Alla Vorobieva, Director of Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute of National Center of Crops' Cultivation Vyacheslav Sokolov, Director of  Institute of Irrigated Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine Raisa Vozhegova, Chief Designer of Lozovsky Forging-Mechanical Factory AlexeyGrinenko, as well as representatives of the agricultural sector in different areas. The products of well-known companies that operate in the agrarian markets of plant protection products, fertilizers, irrigation systems, biosecurity were presented at the Field Day.



More than 300 people had the opportunity to get acquainted with the achievements of modern breeding (140 varieties of wheat and barley), and to communicate with the leading breeders.


The scientific and pedagogical staff of the University thanks our traditional partners: PJSC "Technotorg Don", LLC "Golden Kolos", LLC "S-Rostock", LLC "Agrosnab-South", LLC "AGROTEHNOSOYUZ", LLC "BTU Center" and many others.



For the first time, the event was attended by well-known company in the market of agricultural machinery  "Lozovsky machines" that demonstrated the modern tillage technique and transferred to the University the machines for USD 1 mln. for testing.

After inspecting the demonstration field, the event participants took part in the "round table" on "Current status and prospects of grain production in the South of Ukraine", during which they highly appreciated the organization of the Field Day.


Scientific research field of Mykolayiv NAU is a unique opportunity for scientists and graduate students to conduct research with modern varieties of grains cultures, to make breeding experiments and variety testing,tusing the differentiated power systems and plant protection technologies. For the agrarian producers it is an opportunity to see the benefits of one crops' type over the other.
