University staff meeting with the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine

The meeting with the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Igor Schwayka had been held in Mykolayiv National Agrarian University.

At the meeting, the Minister discussed a lot of social topics and political achievements of new government. He had remembered his own student years, telling about necessary ability to be able to mix the educational process with practical skills.

On the same day, the Minister had visited the event which was devoted to the opening of the modern sprinkler irrigation system in the field of one of Nikolayev National Agrarian University, one of the leading Universities of the Southern Ukraine.

In his speech, the Minister thanked the University staff for their work and researches.

This event became possible due to the joint efforts of the University scientists, designers, manufacturers together with the great support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The University expresses its gratitude to the representatives of the American company Monsanto, known for the production of corn seeds, and its  representatives: Miquel de Jong, Helena Fomina and, Yuri Zolotar, who had supported the  first stage of the University project and invested more than UAH 5 million.

Thanks to the research and production company "The Irrigation systems" and its representative Dmitry Romashchenko the five-kilometer pressurized water system and installation of sprinklers became to be timely possible. 

There were a lot of appreciable help and support from the side of scientific partners from the Institute of irrigated agriculture of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine which is headed by Vazhegova Raisa, who had granted a comprehensive research and consulting assistance, the General Directorate of Water Resources in Nikolayev region with Sergey Pismennyy and Nikolayev interdistrict water management Department with  Mikhail Polishchuk, who have found a lot of opportunities to ensure our irrigation system with pumping equipment.

We want to give a special thank to our best student because young people, despite the festive days of May helped a lot to install "Lindsay Zimmatic" sprinkling equipment.
