From 8 to 10th of October 2012 according to the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce held a three-day working visit of the official, business, scientific and educational circles of Mykolayiv region to the Kingdom of Belgium. Scientific and educational institutions of the region were represented by Nikolayev National Agrarian University: Vice - chancellor on science, PhD, Associate Professor A. Novikov, Head of the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, S. Chorny, Head of the Financial Department, PhD, Associate Professor N. Sirenko.
According to the program at the first day of the visit at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium the presentation of the economic potential of Mykolayiv region was held. The participation of business community in Brussels took part in the presentation.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg I. Dolgov focused in his introductory word on the importance of such events in the context of regionalization and economization of foreign policy of Ukraine.
During the presentation Nikolayev companies were presented. Among them there were shipbuilding, agriculture companies and Nikolayev National Agrarian University. About 100 representatives of Nikolayev and Belgian business community took part in the event. Among them there were representatives of Gent port, region Chambers of Commerce and Industry and relevant ministries and agencies of Belgium.
According to the results of the event the Memorandum of Cooperation between Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Regional Chamber of Commerce of Nikolayev region was signed. MNAU is a member of the Chamber also.
In October 9-10th during a meeting of MNAU representatives Catholic University of Leuven the great interest in further cooperation in the field of agriculture was expressed.
Following the visit of Nikolayev delegation to Belgium representatives of both countries emphasized the desire to continue the existing cooperation and the establishment of new contacts.
